Arizona is the seventh state to offer the popular Goldbacks! These flexible spending notes contain 1/500 oz .999 fine 24K Gold. Goldbacks are the first local, voluntary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, physical gold.
Goldbacks resemble standard paper currency in shape but are made with thin layers of 24-karat gold. Initially introduced in Utah following the Utah Legal Tender Act of 2019, they serve as a voluntary currency, allowing transactions at the vendor’s discretion. Since then, additional states—Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, and Oklahoma—have each launched their own Goldbacks in subsequent years, with Arizona recently becoming the sixth state to adopt this unique form of currency.
